Cedar Cabins Botanical Trail & Butterfly Farm , Belize
Cedar Cabins Botanical Trail & Butterfly Farm is located in Frank's Eddy Village in Western Belize. This botanical park lies in 81 acres of private, dense tropical forest. The trail boasts a large diversity of all native botanical species of medicinal, ornamental, spiritual and historical value. Birding is excellent and a Butterfly Farm featuring 25 native Belizean butterflies is also featured. Camping and tent rental are also available.

Barton Creek Cave
Scour skeletal remains and pottery left by the Mayas on a canoe ride through the Barton Creek Cave located in Belize's Cayo District - an ecosystem of rainforests, caves, jungles, waterfalls, and fauna.

Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center
Step inside this wild kingdom of more 100 zoo animals. The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center, tucked away in a botanical garden, is located at Mile Post 30 on Western Highway, 30 miles west of Belize City, Belize. Don't forget insect repellant!

Blue Hole National Park
Catch a glimpse of a natural phenomenon at this park; a sapphire blue sinkhole leading to the Sibun River. The Blue Hole lures tourists to this park, located 12 miles southeast of Belmopan on the Hummingbird Highway. The park's popular Blue Hole is about 25 feet deep. The national park also features the famous St. Herman's Cave.

Community Baboon Sanctuary
Come and meet one of Belize's endangered species - the Black Howler Monkey - at this 18,000-square-mile reserve originally established in 1985. The monkeys, known as the "baboon" to Belize residents, are known for their infamous howl and raspy-like cat roar. Visitors can coast the rivers of Belize, and rove the mangroves, rustic villages, and authentic Maya archaeological sites on a guided tour from nearby San Pedro to the sanctuary.

Half Moon Caye Natural Monument
Frolic among the birds and marine life at this natural conservatory dominated by the Red-footed Booby and Frigate species. Visitors from all over frequent the Half Moon Caye Natural Monument, located on the Lighthouse Reef Atoll, to catch sight of some rare birds, and to take advantage of its surrounding waters. The Caye, an ideal place to snorkel and scuba dive, is accessible by boat only.

Hol Chan Marine Preserve
Reserve a night for a wonderful underwater excursion through the Elkorn Forest and meet the most exotic nocturnal sea creatures at Hol Chan Marine Reserve, located four miles southeast of San Pedro Town in Ambergris Caye. More than 160 species of fish have been identified at this rare reserve - a popular spot for night diving.

Lamanai
Meander through the jungles of Lamanai on a scenic boat ride through one of Belize's largest ceremonial centers for snapshots of temples and palaces from the Classic and Pre Classic Periods of the Mayan civilization. The Lamanai, a large crocodile habitat, is located along the New Lagoon River.

Laughing Bird Cay National Park
Dive this atoll located 13 miles southeast of Placenia Village in the Stann Creek District. The Bird Caye, a colony of Laughing Gulls, is a hot spot for scuba diving and snorkeling.

Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary
Bird-watchers will find their delight in exploring this privately-owned reserve - a haven for toucans, parrots, storks, and hundreds of other species of birds. Monkey Bay is the host site of a field research station for visiting scientists and archaeological excavation for school youths. Camping is available at this sanctuary.

Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Preserve
Nature lovers, put on your hiking boots and enjoy an invigorating trek through the limestone terrain of this pine forest. Hiking the nature trails of this karst presents a great opportunity to explore the many intriguing caves along the way. Horseback riding is also a favorite pastime for reserve visitors.

San Pedro International Costa Maya Festival
Salsa with the Mayas at this festival - a cultural extravaganza held in July or August in San Pedro Town (Ambergris Caye). The Costa Maya Festival is a celebration of the Mundo Maya countries in Central America; Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. This weeklong celebration entertains its spectators with theatrical dancers, a variety of ethnic cuisines, beauty pageants, and Punta, Reggae, Soca, Salsa, Meringue, Cumbia, and traditional Mayan music. Each country picks a night to showcase their culture at the festival.
